Primary care provider reviewing A1c results with a diabetes patient in Henderson NV

Real diabetes care, not a 10-minute refill visit

Diabetes is one of the most common reasons patients in Henderson and Las Vegas come to primary care, and one of the most under-managed. We treat it the way it should be treated: with time, current guidelines, and a plan that actually fits your day.

What we manage in-house

  • Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, staging, and treatment
  • Prediabetes, reversing it when possible
  • Insulin initiation and titration
  • GLP-1 receptor agonists (Ozempic, Mounjaro, Trulicity) with prior-auth support
  • SGLT2 inhibitors, metformin, and combination regimens
  • Annual diabetic foot and skin exams
  • Kidney function (eGFR, urine albumin) and lipid monitoring
  • Referrals for retinal exams and podiatry as needed

How we set your A1c goal

ADA guidelines target an A1c under 7% for most adults, but tighter or looser targets make sense depending on age, hypoglycemia risk, kidney function, and how long you've had diabetes. We set a personalized goal at your first visit and recheck A1c every three months.

What a typical first visit looks like

  • 60 minutes with your provider
  • Review of prior labs, medications, and any complications
  • Comprehensive metabolic, A1c, and lipid panels (in-office draws available)
  • Written treatment plan, medication adjustments, and follow-up schedule
  • Coordination with your weight management care if relevant

Frequently asked questions

Do you treat both type 1 and type 2 diabetes?

Yes. We manage type 2 diabetes and prediabetes in-house and co-manage type 1 with endocrinology when needed. We coordinate insulin, GLP-1, SGLT2, and oral therapy regimens for adults in Henderson and Las Vegas.

Will you prescribe Ozempic, Mounjaro, or other GLP-1s for diabetes?

Yes, when clinically appropriate. We handle prior authorizations, monitor A1c and kidney function, and titrate dosing carefully to minimize side effects.

How often will I be seen?

Most patients with diabetes are seen every 3 months for A1c review, with labs drawn ahead of the visit. Newly diagnosed or insulin-dependent patients may be seen monthly while we stabilize control.

Do you accept Medicare for diabetes care?

Yes. Medicare covers diabetes self-management training, A1c testing, foot exams, and routine office visits. We also accept most commercial plans serving Henderson and Las Vegas.
