A great deal of what walks through the door of a primary care office has a second half to it. Sleep that will not settle. Blood pressure that climbs during a hard year. Weight, appetite, energy, focus. Treating only the medical half of that leaves most of the problem in place, which is why behavioral health is part of what we do rather than a phone number we hand out.
Our office at 9315 W Sunset Rd. Ste 101A in southwest Las Vegas, near Sunset and Fort Apache, is home to both sides of the practice, and patients come to us from across Henderson, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Enterprise, and the southwest valley. You may see Henderson Mental Health signage when you arrive. That is the same organization, not a different building to find.
Adults can start on either side. Some patients begin with a physical and end up talking with a psychiatric provider a month later. Others come to us first for counseling in Las Vegas or Henderson and pick up a primary care provider once they are settled. What a first counseling or psychiatry visit looks like.
Behavioral health care starts the way good primary care does: someone sits down with you and listens long enough to understand the shape of the problem. From there the clinician talks through options with you, whether that is therapy every other week, starting or adjusting a medication, or a specialty evaluation.
Because both sides of the practice sit in the same Las Vegas office, your primary care provider and your behavioral health clinician are people you can reach at the same number instead of two front desks that have never spoken.
